General InstructionsOk, so now you're a member, now what? Really it's very simple, trust me. 1. The opening page is either a Default or Gallery Template, the only diffrence is that Default lists its child papes in a stacked list, Gallery lists its children in a grid. Both have an editable text area and have an icon to load a picture. (instructions for image loading are on the "Creating Gallery" page)
2. To create a new page simply click on the green new button either in your page or on the left. A window opens giving you a number of page templates to choose from: each has a description of what it does, choose one that best suits you purposes.
Some templates are interchangable, some are not. Images loaded into slide shows will not be transfered if you change the template. Gallery, Default, Simple, and Static list are. It is best to not have to change templates, if you get in trouble contact us.
3. When you choose a template a new window opens, the first thing to do is name the page. Long titles are not recommended, keep it brief and to the point. Page titles can be changed, BUT the first title you enter will be the address of the page on the web and the changed title will only appear in the site. Sooo, best to make your first title the one want.
4. The Description line should also be brief and only appears on the parent page under the link for the page. Example: title "Biography" Description "My life in a nutshell"
5. You can enter text at anytime, either by typing in the text box, or by copy/pasting text from some other source. NOTE: some text formating will be lost and some will not, when coping from another source.
6. Save!!! When you are done, click the red save button. The page will open you will see that above the title there will be blue bar with a number of edit functions listed in it. They are as follows: Edit this re-opens the text editing window Move this allows you to move a page, it is a bit tricky, and should only be done when you have pages 2 or 3 or more layers deep. Advanced this is an important function but be careful when you mess with it. It allows you to: change the template a page uses, to set what template the children of that page can use (useful when creating Galleries) and the Sort key which allows you to order the sequence of your pages, numbering them 1-9. Always Save your changes, DON'T MESS WITH THE FRAMEWORK Delete You can delete any page, BUT once you do it, its gone... Never, ever Delete your home page. Any page you delete also deletes any and all pages under it. Sooo, be carful.
7. Image upload button allows you to load an image (one per/page, slide show template and product page allow multiple images). There are instructions to follow and more information on the "Creating Gallery" page. Once the image is loaded, it will appear with a "remove" and a "properties" above it. Properties allows you to size the image, move it and put in a caption. Play around.
That should do it, and get you started, questions can always be emailed to me.
