Creating Gallery PagesThese directions are intended for Artists creating Gallery pages.
1. create a folder for web pictures where ever you can find it easily on your computer. 2. bring a picture into photoshop(if you don't have Photoshop find a free jpeg compression download,like Google's Picasa instructions may vary from program to program). 3. following steps are recommended for large original images (most digital camera images need to be compressed)Instructions are for Photoshop
4. go to "image" drop down menu, select "image size", make image 500pix wide then 5. go to file drop down, select "save for web" and select jpeg in settings menu on the right then look at the bottom below the image and see if the image is less than 70K 6. click ok in the right side menu a window will open browse for the folder you create and click ok, once you have done this close the original picture BUT DON'T save changes. 7. when you repeat this save for web will remember the folder to save it in (usually) 8. if image is not a big file go to file drop down, select save for web repeat 4, 5, 6 9. After you have a bunch of images saved in the web folder open the site in your browser 10. click the login at the bottom of the page, put in you user name and password 11. go to your page on the site click on the new works gallery 12. or click the green new button and select the gallery template 13. open the gallery page and click the green new button select default or simple page template 14. title the page, put in some text in the text box if you want, description line appears only on the gallery page, click save 15. when the page opens click on the load image icon ,browse window opens, look for your web folder and select an image click open, then click upload 16. image will appear on the page, click on the properties link and select size, position, etc 17. click save changes, repeat 12 to 16, browse window will remeber where your images are.
